The project is a 3-bedroom apartment located in the lower ground floor of a residential building with an adjoining sunken garden with respect to the road level. Our intention was to open up the apartment to the garden, maximizing its exposure to light and greenery while “virtually” increasing its floor area. This was achieved by widening the openings of the reception areas, implementing wide sliding bay windows that completely blur the distinction of inside/outside. The kitchen volume is clad in stained mirrors which internalize the garden through hazy reflections. The material palette is deliberately restrained yet cozy opting for lightness and airiness.
